Our Mission
Beacon 82 is dedicated to defending all God’s children and preventing sexual exploitation through education.
For years, we served our community as the 57/70 Task Force, keeping a vigilant eye on the major transit corridors passing through our backyard. As our reach grew, so did our vision. Today, as Beacon 82, our heart remains exactly the same, but our scope has expanded. We are dedicated to defending all God’s children and preventing sexual exploitation through education—serving as a guiding light of safety, truth, and protection for our region and beyond.

“If we can help save even one person from this crime, our efforts are worth it.”
Human trafficking is often an invisible threat, but when a community is properly trained, everyone can help spot the warning signs and protect victims from exploitation.
Founded in 2020 by local leaders and the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce as the 57/70 Task Force, our organization originally focused on the unique traffic hubs of East-Central Illinois. Today, as Beacon 82, our mission has grown to meet a deeper calling: Beacon 82 is dedicated to defending all God’s children and preventing sexual exploitation through education. By providing targeted training to the public, schools, and local businesses, we transform everyday citizens into a vigilant shield against exploitation.
